Harry Gardner Vice President, Industry Technology
| As Vice President of Industry Technology, Harry Gardner manages the Mortgage Bankers Association's (MBA's) many initiatives to support the mortgage industry's technology infrastructure. Gardner is president of MISMO®, which develops e-commerce standards and guidance for industry data transactions, information security, and eMortgages, and also manages SISAC®, the Secure Identity Services Accreditation Corporation (both organizations are wholly-owned subsidiaries of MBA).
Gardner also staffs the MBA Board of Directors Technology Steering Committee (BoDTech), Residential Technology Steering Committee (ResTech), and the Residential Technology Providers Forum (made up of the industry's software and services providers), as well as several task forces under the ResTech Committee focusing on critical industry issues like eMortgage Adoption, Info Security, and Enterprise Data Management.
Gardner works with related industry groups including the Property Records Industry Association (PRIA) developing eRecording standards for eMortgages; Electronic Signatures and Records Association (ESRA), Appraisal Institute, American Land Title Association (ALTA), National Notary Association (NNA), US Notary Association (USNA), American Escrow Association (AEA); and Standards and Procedures for Electronic Records and Signatures (SPeRS).
Gardner has developed hardware and software technology solutions for more than 27 years, including electronic systems for the aerospace, broadcast and audio industries. He has been a Novell- and 3Com-certified local area network (LAN) administrator and has managed document imaging systems and software as well as database and Web development for a variety of e-commerce initiatives.
Gardner received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Virginia.
